Composition before effects
Leave safe zones. Platforms cover the bottom with captions and buttons, and the right edge with like icons. Put the face and the important text in the middle band. If you film wide and crop, you will cut off hands and product labels.
Visual hierarchy means one thing to look at. A face plus a giant paragraph plus a logo plus a gameplay HUD is four videos at once. Captions should be readable at arm’s length, which is how people hold the phone.
- 9:16, filmed that way when you can.
- Eyes around the upper third, not under the username.
- Light the face from the front. A ceiling light makes everyone look tired.
- Edit on the phone at least once so you see the real size.
