What counts as original

Original means you added the thing a viewer cannot get from the source clip: a take, a lesson, a transformation. A reupload is not a point of view.

Platforms are tired of copies

Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram all have reasons to show the person who made the thing, not the tenth account that downloaded it. If your page is mostly other people’s videos with a logo, expect less reach and more takedowns.

Reaction, commentary, a clip inside a larger point, and a compilation can be fine when your contribution is obvious and you have the right to use the footage. "I found this" is not a contribution. Credit is not the same as permission.

Frequently asked questions

Can I repost my own TikTok to Reels?

Yes. Remove the watermark, reframe if you need to, and write a caption for that app. It is still your work.
